Our Coalfield School Story continued this week, as it does each week, humbly relying on God’s mercy and grace “to help us at the proper time”. “Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.”Hebrews 4:16
We are thankful for the good people whom which God has blessed our school.
Coach Jones’ STEM students culminated their rocket unit by launching them at the ballpark . Students collabratively built and painted rockets in class. They then launched them and used measuring tools, Algebra, and Geometry to determine how high they flew.
Ms. Paula Jones Melhorn’s 2nd graders designed, illustrated, and wrote a book to give to Ms. Shelia Harvey and Mr. Tim Hines.
Mrs. Kristan Conlon Headrick’s 6th grade math students used measuring cups to learn about fractions in a real world way. They made rice crispy treats.
One of our young students , Brazen Edwards, earned an opportunity for award for having a one-heartbeat attitude . He told us all he wanted for an award was to sign the big one-heartbeat banner in the connector hallway. I absolutely love this!
We recognized our staff and student of the month this week. These folks are recommended to the Director of Schools for recognition. This month Coach Benson Napier was named staff of the month for his willingness to fill multiple positions with out much notice during unusual circumstances. Our student of the month is Landon Buckner for his willingnessto helpout whenever needed, or sometimes without being asked .
Our PreK students engaged with the STEM students as they examined the rockets they built and then watched them launch them.
I want recognize Mrs. Brianna Massengale for all the hard work and time she dedicated to our middle school volleyball young ladies. Ms. Bri stepped down as head coach so she could dedicate more time to her family as they are heavily involved in activities. Thank you, Coach Bri for all you do!
