Our Coalfield School Story-Week of April 14th

Our Coalfield School Story continued this week with everyone pitching in to support students as they began state testing.  A huge shout out to Mrs. Susanne Hitchcock Pemberton and Ms. Dee Dee Harrison Wallace for all their hard work with the exhausting tasks associated with coordinating state testing for a Pre-K through 12 th grade school. We will continue to test through this coming week as well. Thank you to all the parents who took time to write a note of encouragement to your child .  These notes are covering the walls down the hall ways so students can read them each day.  I appreciate Ms. Whitney Jackson, Mrs. Brianna Massengale, Mrs. Dee Dee, and all the staff involved in leading this effort to support our kids during testing.
Remember to keep our students and staff in your prayers as many experience anxiety during these tests.
Our spring sports teams were all in action this past week with strong showings on the diamond.
See the attached screenshots for scores and highlights of this past week’s games.
We are thankful for all the businesses who sponsor our students.  Please remember the signs on the fences when you need to do business.
Our Pre-K had their annual egg hunt and were assisted by our 8th grade students.  I love seeing our older students spending time with our littles.
Our STEM students began their Raised Garden project.  After testing each day, students worked to build the planting boxes which will be placed outside each classroom that requested one to be built.  Students in those classrooms will be learning to plant and rasie vegetables.
Our Bible Release was this past week. We had to make two bus runs to transport elementary students who had parent permission to Pleasant Grove Church. I appreciate Melanie Mckinney, Ted Mckinney, and the folks at Pleasant Grove for their commitment to this program.
Please continue to pray for our school, students, and staff each day.
