The Coalfield School Story has continued to live out since our last post. There has been a lot of strong things happening in the classroom and on the ball fields. Teachers and students have been reviewing for state testing which will start on Tuesday, April 15th. I am so thankful for the hard work our staff and students have put in this year. Please keep them in your prayers each day as testing can create a lot of anxiety for some. Parents, please encourage students to just give their best effort on the tests. That’s all we ask of them. I do not want them to feel stressed or anxious about testing but only to see it as an opportunity to do their best.
Our sports teams and coaches have also put in a lot of work and had strong showings since our last post. Our high school baseball team competed well against great competition at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and collected two wins. They returned from that trip to collect several wins here at home this past week as well. They are currently ranked 2nd in the state.
Our high school and middle school softball teams have collected several wins as well. Inclement weather at times has kept our middle school baseball team from opportunities this past week.
Ms. Tiffany Deanne Thompson did a fantastic job putting our Sophomore night together. We appreciate all those who came and participated in this event.
Our STEM class culminated their rocket unit by launching the rockets they built. They have since moved on to the circuits unit. The new STEM lab was approved to bid out at this week’s school board meeting. We look forward to breaking ground on this new building.
Please continue to pray for our students and staff on a daily basis.
