Our Coalfield School Story-Week of May 13

Our Coalfield School story this week was tough on our hearts.  We experienced loss that affected our school family and made our hearts hurt for members of our family.  We will rally around them and love on them through their loss.
However, this week brought much good that helped provide comfort and encouragement as we faced the sadness.  We will continue to focus on our blessings to help encourage us as we move forward through the hard.
Our middle school STEM students launched rockets they have been designing and building.
Our second graders had a fun water day at the park.
Our CMS football team received their State Championship rings during their ring ceremony.
Our middle school God Squad had their end of the year meeting with pizza in the park.
High school students had Class Olympics down at the park and Snowbiz came to provide refreshments.
We had our yearbook dedication this week.  Ms. Cathy Bird was honored in maybe the coolest dedication presentation I have witnessed.
Seniors had their traditional camp out/ senior prank night this week.  They decorated the front of the school and parking lot with toilet paper and various other items.  We appreciate everyone who helped clean up on Friday before graduation.  A special thank you to Mr. Danny Justice for volunteering to pressure wash the sidewalk.
We had our PreK and Kndergarten graduation this week.  Thank you for everyone who came and supported our littles.
Our Seniors also did their traditional senior walk through the campus.  They turned in their decorated ceiling tiles which will honor them by being placed in the hallway ceiling.
Senior parents fed their graduates a nice meal at the senior center after their graduation practice on Friday.  Thank you to all the parents for doing this for our seniors.
This morning we celebrated our seniors with their graduation ceremony in the gym.  Thank you to Ms. Carmen Jackson Hines and anyone else who helped get the gym ready and organize the graduation ceremony.
We love our seniors and are going to miss seeing them each day next year, but they will always be a part of our One-Heartbeat family.  Mr. Matthew Denton sent me a video that he made about his last days at our school.
Please keep our school family in your prayers.  We have several who are hurting from the loss of loved ones.  Specifically remember our seniors as they start this new season of their lives.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer…God bless each of you!
