Our Coalfield School Story-Week of April 29.

Our Coalfield School story continued this week with more challenges but a lot of good stuff as well.  As always, our school family will continue to face the challenges and celebrate the positives.
We celebrated Carter Lowe as our school’s first ever Middle College graduate. Carter’s cording ceremony was this week at Roane State Community College as was his graduation ceremony.  We are proud of Carter for accomplishments and for being a trend setter for future Coalfield students.
Ms. Tabitha Jones-Davis, our multi-talented school secretary/multi-year champion middle school softball coach, helped John Justice rescue a swarm of bees from our campus. John is a Biologist and bee keeper in our community.  We appreciate him for safely removing the swarm from our campus.
Mr. Mike Smith’s Physical Science class was learning about circuits this week.  They were  engaged in hands on activities creating circuits.
Our high school softball showed love to our injured senior Jasmine Lloyd on her senior night. She got hurt in the game and wasn’t able to be recognized on her senior night.
We appreciate the voice of the Jackets Mr. Greg Addington for continuing to serve our student-athletes by providing sound equipment and his expert announcing abilities for our softball girls this week.  We appreciate all Greg does for our school.
We appreciate the pastors from our community who came and prayed over our campus on Thursday…National Day of Prayer.  Pastor Don Winn from Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Pastor Jason Lowe from Union Baptist Church, Pastor Kenny Raines from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and Pastor Corey Jones from Middle Creek Baptist Church took time to come and pray over our school campus.
We celebrated one of our outstanding young ladies, Ms. Chloe Isham , as she signed to play basketball at Roane State Community College.  Chloe had her family, her school family, and coaches there supporting her.
We look forward to seeing her chase her dream.
Our high school baseball team won another district championship this week.  They will play in the regional tournament next week.  Congratulations to our boys and their coaches.
Our CMS softball girls also won another district championship this week.  They will play in the sectionals next week along with our CMS Baseball team.
We had a college and career signing day this week as well.  Students shared their future careers and plans.
We celebrated our super hero cafeteria workers this week.  A big thank you to Ms. Shelia Harvey and Ms. Sheila Walls for putting together a nice lunch for Ms. Carol Carol P Jackson and her crew along with custodians.
Also, thank you to Ms. Cathy Bird for all the time she spends capturing memories with her camera for our students, staff, and families.  She gives a lot of her time to make this happen for them. She is an absolute treasure to our school.
Please continue to lift our students, staff, and their families up in prayer.  Specifically pray for Zach Stewart and Bree Stewart and their baby Zeke.  Zeke is struggling with an illness and needs our prayers.  Also, continue to remember Izzy.
